On Top of Spaghetti

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.

What a crazy month this has been. I hate bore you with the details because most of the people who read my blog already know...but just in case I'll give you a peek into what's been going on this past week.

The most recent event was this past Saturday. We had our "Spaghetti Dinner/Dessert Auction" fundraiser so the youth can attend Youth Conference in Nauvoo.
We were planing and hoping for about 300 people but only got about half of that.
(Here is how it looked while we were setting everything up)
Even though we didn't get as many people, we made a decent amount of $$$$. The Young Women's President couldn't be there that night and had told both Bishops I was in charge, but that felt pretty overwhelming!!! So the rest of the presidency stepped in and we all did it together...it got a bit stressful at times but it turned out great and we made a wonderful team.
It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.

There was also a Stake dance that night but luckily we didn't have to go chaperon. Then today I had to attend Ward Council, teach the MiaMaids, go to BYC, change poopy diapers, and the list goes on and on. Bla bla bla, I won't say more cause now it is on to the next thing and May is looking just as busy.
Here is my banana bread that kept me up till Midnight on Friday (each leader had to make something to auction).
It went for $45.00 so I was pretty happy!

The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.
The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.

So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.

Aside from all the things I've had going on, Steve has been just as busy. He has also been a great support to me. Thank you Steve for all you do and for taking care of our daughter. Maybe I'll actually get to see you more this week. Love you!

"Hot Dog"

"What is that?"

"I see a dog!"

Yesterday was a very cute day!
One of Gabriella's favorite shows is "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" on Playhouse Disney. In every episode they sing this "Hot Dog" song and all the characters dance.

Well, she tries to sing and dance too and it was just too cute so I took a bunch of silly pictures.

Ella Bella singing...

Funny thing happened that day, I let her hold my phone while we shopped at Kohl's and next thing I know my dad calls asking me if I needed something. Apparently, Gabriella called my parents and let them hear her breathe for a good minute.

Silly girl!

I should have known

I should have known: Gabriella has a bit of a temper
I should have known: she wouldn't just let us hold her on the Light Rail
I should have known: she would be running around EVERYWHERE
I should have known: the more I say "no" the more she gets upset
I should have known: Daddy is sometimes the only one that can calm her down
I should have known: Her smile melts my heart and makes life worth living

By the way, Ella has a hair stylist. Her cute hair was done by my good friend Shelly...thanks Shelly. Oh and can we come over everyday so you can do her hair?

Gabriella's Denver Nuggets Debut

A few weeks ago, I received an email at work with a good deal on Nuggets tickets. Meredith and I try to go to at least one game a year, and we hadn't been to a single game this year. With this being the last home game of the regular season, this seemed like a good game to go to. I bought 2 tickets and we opted to decide later about whether or not to take Ella with us. We later called to confirm that she could sit on our laps at the game, and so we decided to take her with us.

Just as a note, Tuesday's high was 78 degrees. Here's what Wednesday afternoon looked like:

In other words, things were a bit snowy (actually, really snowy). We decided that rather than fighting midtown traffic, combined with snow, we would take the Light Rail. I figured that Ella would enjoy the train. I was seriously wrong. Ella wanted to run all over the place, and with a reasonably full train, that just wasn't an option. So we held our angry little girl until we got to the Pepsi Center. When we got there, she started to smile at some of the people around her, so we weren't really sure what to expect.

In the Pepsi Center we got her a cool little ball that features the autographs of the players. She didn't really want just ONE ball, but we eventually got out of there with just one. We went over to the other store (the clothing one) and thought it might be nice to get her a jersey. We got her Allen Iverson's jersey, and after fighting with her to let us scan it and then get the hanger off, we took her to the family bathroom to change her shirt. Here is the aftermath:

Needless to say, Ella was still in her angry/upset mode. We had always expected that between the two of us, we would probably get to see about one full game (one in the hall with Ella). I began to think that was the way things would go. We got to our seats and then Meredith went to get some food for us. Ella was a little bit restless for a few minutes, but when Meredith came back, here's what she found:

A quiet Ella! A happy Ella! Some sort of miracle occurred, and we were able to enjoy the rest of the game with her. She copied Dad a lot, yelling "booooo" and "yay!" and clapping when someone made a basket (from either team). We ended up having a lot of fun with her. We left at the beginning of the fourth quarter (since the playoffs were already a lock, Denver was resting their stars, and it was getting late). All in all, what started as an absolute disaster ended really well.

On another note, Meredith and I had a work party to go to a few weeks ago. I absolutely don't deserve to have the smokin' hot wife that I have, as you can see below:

I'm truly blessed.

Science is Awesome!!!

Yes indeed, we like science around here. Good thing too.
As we strolled around the mall last week we found a great sale and then we saw this shirt and had to get it...

She can really "ham" it up!

See food...or I should say See Banana

I only wish they had her shirt in my size.

Another Week and a Pink Hat

Another week has gone by and I'm still alive...YEA!!!
I thought it would be nice to let ya'll see some pics from the week.
ENJOY

I had some left over yarn and made Ella Bella a hat...she seemed to really like it.

She saw mommy paint her nails and then stuck out her fingers,
she's a girly girl!
Here are some silly faces.

I had meant to post this up a while back but I was sooo sick.
Here are the sweet flowers Steve got me before the virus attacked me in full force. Thanks Steve, I really do like carnations.

The other night Gabriella's bedtime was all messed up so she was up way past her bedtime and finally got comfortable next to daddy.
It was a sweet moment.

And finally...
After finding great frames (on clearance from Target) for our large wall, I decided to be daring and try something. I think the lettering may be a bit too big, but it's okay for now.
